A high-growth fintech business is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join its expanding technology team as it continues to enhance a sophisticated cloud-based platform that sits at the heart of its business operations.
This is an exciting opportunity to join at a pivotal stage of the company’s growth, helping to shape the next generation of its core technology estate. Working within a collaborative engineering team, you’ll contribute to the development of scalable, high-performance systems while influencing architecture, engineering standards and future technical direction.
The role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a hands-on environment with broad ownership and autonomy. You’ll be involved throughout the entire software development lifecycle, delivering new functionality, improving existing services and leveraging AI-powered tooling to enhance software delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain modern applications across the full technology stack using C# and .NET
- Contribute to the design and evolution of the platform architecture and engineering standards
- Build scalable cloud-native solutions within AWS and/or Azure environments
- Design and develop event-driven microservices and messaging-based systems
- Deliver new platform capabilities while reducing technical debt and improving existing functionality
- Support, maintain and optimise production applications
- Work closely with engineering colleagues to identify and adopt new technologies and development practices
- Help drive a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and engineering excellence
- Utilise AI-powered development tools to improve productivity and software quality throughout the development lifecycle
Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial experience developing applications with C# and .NET
- Excellent SQL skills and database development experience
- Experience building cloud-native applications within AWS and/or Azure
- Knowledge of event-driven architectures, messaging technologies and microservices
- Experience working across software design, development, deployment and production support
- Hands-on experience using AI tools within software engineering workflows
- Strong understanding of modern software engineering principles and best practices
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work across multiple areas of a complex technology platform
- Comfortable collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Nice to Have
- Experience working within fintech, FX, trading or wider financial services environments
- Experience in startup or scale-up technology businesses
- Exposure to highly transactional systems and distributed architectures
- Passion for emerging technologies and AI-driven software development
