This is an excellent opportunity for a data-focused analyst to join a growing Exposure Management function within a highly regarded London Market insurance business. My client is continuing to invest in data, automation, and reporting capability to strengthen underwriting insight and portfolio optimisation, and this role is central to that journey.
You’ll take ownership of end-to-end data pipelines and reporting, with a strong emphasis on SQL-driven data modelling and Power BI dashboards used directly by exposure management, catastrophe modelling teams, and senior stakeholders. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys building automated, scalable reporting solutions that have real commercial impact.
Working closely with Exposure Management, IT, and Analytics teams, you’ll help modernise reporting, improve data quality, and drive automation across complex insurance datasets in a fast-paced London Market environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain Power BI dashboards covering exposure, submissions, data quality and portfolio insights
- Develop, optimise and maintain SQL queries, views and stored procedures to support analytics and reporting
- Own end-to-end data pipelines, from source systems through to reporting outputs
- Ensure timely, accurate and transparent data flow across underwriting, policy admin and catastrophe modelling systems
- Define and monitor data quality KPIs, automating validation checks and exception reporting
- Automate data ingestion, refresh and reporting processes to reduce manual effort
- Integrate data from internal systems and third-party platforms including catastrophe modelling tools
- Work closely with business users to translate requirements into clear, actionable insight
- Support continuous improvement through automation, analytics and selective use of AI/ML techniques
Skills and Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Power BI (DAX, Power Query, data modelling)
- Advanced SQL skills including joins, performance optimisation and stored procedures
- Experience using Python for data processing, automation and API integrations
- Background in data automation, ETL or analytics engineering
- Understanding of data quality, governance and reporting best practice
- Experience working with insurance, exposure management, catastrophe modelling or underwriting data
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP)
- Confident communicator able to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Desirable
- Experience with ETL tools such as Azure Data Factory, Alteryx, Talend or SSIS
- Knowledge of the Lloyd’s/London Market
- Exposure to AIR Verisk, Touchstone or RMS
- Experience with AI-driven data validation or anomaly detection
