We’re partnering with a highly reputable, well-established trading company in London, seeking a Principal DevOps Engineer to join their expert engineering team.
This is a rare opportunity to work on impactful projects in a high-performance culture, where technology and automation are core to success. You’ll be instrumental in driving innovation, improving release velocity, and enhancing system stability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive stability, scalability and speed across software delivery through tooling and automation.
- Fully automate CI/CD pipelines, including testing, deployment and monitoring.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and QA teams to improve release workflows for both cloud and on-prem environments.
- Lead the design and implementation of modern DevOps practices including containerisation, observability, and environment management.
- Guide the business in adopting agile-friendly DevOps strategies that reduce manual overhead and boost release confidence.
- Engage vendors and influence tooling direction to ensure optimal performance, licensing and integration.
Essential Experience & Skills:
- Deep hands-on experience with AWS and related cloud-native services.
- Strong understanding of DevOps/SRE principles and continuous delivery best practices.
- Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with integrated testing.
- Practical knowledge of deployment strategies such as blue-green and canary releases.
- Scripting skills in at least one language such as Python, Bash, PowerShell or Go.
- Good exposure to infrastructure and configuration management using containers (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Solid grasp of observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenSearch, or CloudWatch.
- Experience collaborating within agile development teams.
Desirable (Nice to Have):
- Background in financial services or high-availability environments.
- Familiarity with developer tooling like GitLab, Jenkins, or Nexus.
- Exposure to serverless technologies and infrastructure-as-code.
