Location: London (5 days per week in-office)
A technology-driven speciality insurance firm, operating in a complex, data-heavy environment is looking for a Senior DevOps/Cloud Engineer to own infrastructure and DevOps delivery end to end.
This is a high-impact, hands-on role where you’ll be the primary DevOps authority – designing, building, running and improving the platform with no large DevOps function to fall back on. The business needs a self-starter who wants responsibility, enjoys project ownership, and takes pride in delivering robust, well-engineered solutions.
What you’ll be doing
- Owning end-to-end DevOps and cloud infrastructure, from design through to production support
- Designing and delivering infrastructure projects that directly support analytics and software teams
- Building and managing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform as a core standard
- Creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
- Operating across cloud and hybrid environments, ensuring availability, performance and security
- Acting as the escalation point for complex infrastructure and production issues
- Proactively identifying improvements, modernisation opportunities and technical debt
- Working closely with engineers, stakeholders and third-party vendors to deliver change
- Taking full accountability for outcomes – this role genuinely owns what it delivers
Core technical focus
- Cloud engineering (strong Azure focus, cloud-first mindset)
- Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (non-negotiable)
- CI/CD pipelines and automation
- Hybrid cloud/on-prem connectivity
- Security, monitoring, resilience and operational excellence
- Supporting data and analytics platforms in production environments
