Are you an experienced Senior Software Developer looking for a unique & exciting contract opportunity? Would you like to be an integral technical resource for a leader in the bespoke reinsurance business?
Our client, a leading company in the insurance industry, are seeking a Senior Software Developer for an initial six-month contract that has scope to extend way beyond the initial period. This role will see you leading a small development team, making vital architectural decisions & communicating with key stakeholders while delivering high-performance software solutions, using a modern Microsoft tech stack. Their are plenty of greenfield projects & you’ll have an immediate impact upon joining.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a small development team, ensuring high coding standards and best practices.
- Work on greenfield projects, developing systems and services that act as a central hub for the business.
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable, and secure software solutions using .NET and Azure.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, providing technical leadership and making architectural decisions.
- Optimize and manage large datasets, ensuring efficient data handling and performance.
- Develop and maintain Web APIs, ensuring seamless integration with business systems.
- Work in a hybrid model, with up to three days per week in the London office.
Key Skills & Experience:
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in .NET development with a strong focus on Azure.
- Proven experience working with large datasets and ORM frameworks.
- Solid understanding of Web API development and API technologies.
- Experience in financial services/insurance (preferred but not essential).
- Familiarity with SQL and message queues (advantageous).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with stakeholders and interpret architectural requirements.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to technical challenges.
