This rapidly growing, global fintech are looking to appoint a Cloud Security Engineer, to work in an Azure DevOps environment so that they can resolve and improve various challenges in their estate. The business are regulated by the Financial Ombudsman in the Uk and provide bespoke white labelled systems to a regulated industry supporting both B2B and B2C interactions. The business is scaling up impressively since their launch over 10 years ago.
Cloud Security Engineer: The role
This role will report into the Head of DevOps, so the successful Cloud Security Engineer will need to approach their role with a DevOps mindset; the security problems must be solved but any changes need to take into account the wider infrastructure landscape. There will also be a strong dotted line and much engagement with the business’ CISO too. The successful Cloud Security Engineer will be responsible for:
- Designing and implementing secure cloud architectures -whilst a multi-cloud environment exists, the primary cloud is MS Azure
- Take ownership for developing and enforcing security standards, polices and procedure in this cloud environment
- Work with a SecOps mindset to monitor for breaches and respond to incidents as appropriate
- Implement and manage security tooling across vulnerability management and encryption
- Ensure industry regulations are adhered to for example PCI-DSS, SOX etc
- Liaise with external vendors and regulators to align cloud security initiatives
Cloud Security Engineer: Your experience
- Hands on Azure DevOps experience in a regulated environment
- At least 2 years proven experience in the following:
- Terraform or similar IaC language
- Azure Security with the ability to deploy polices and blue prints
- Using MS Defender for Containers
- Patching Kubernetes Nodes using automation
- Advanced Kubernetes
