Spencer Rose are looking for a Data Governance Analyst to join our clients team. Our client is a leading global provider of market infrastructure – providing clients with access to global financial and commodities markets. The Data Governance Analyst sits within the Data Services team.
The Data Governance Analyst will be responsible for helping design and optimise the way data is curated, managed, governed and catalogued across the organisation, including shaping the Data Catalog, Data Lineage and Master Data Management approach.
Data Governance Analyst Responsibilities:
- Drive development, deployment and ongoing improvements to data management standards, policies, and processes, in order to enhance the quality, completeness and availability of the organisation’s data.
- Work with the Data Governance Council and Data Stewards across business units to ensure compliance with related standards, policies, roles and responsibilities.
- Oversee and orchestrate Data Quality Management processes across the group
- Contribute to the delivery, management and maintenance of Data Lineage models and Enterprise Data Catalogue
- Help drive greater understanding and appreciation of best practice in data management and usage across the organisation through structured training and other activities
- Assisting with the mobilisation and management of the Enterprise Data Stewardship community
- Contribute to the evolution of the enterprise messaging models and schemas and provide guidance to development teams on use of schemas
- Help drive improvements in the maturity of the firm’s data via master data management initiatives
Data Governance Analyst Skills:
- Experience as a data (governance) analyst, business analyst or data modeller – ideally working within an Agile development environment. Hands-on working with a business data catalogue, such as Colibra, Informatica, Alation etc.
- Experience working with a business data catalogue, such as Colibra, Informatica, Alation etc.
- Prior experience implementing Data Management & Governance processes and standards into strategic projects and delivering enterprise Data Quality initiatives
- Deep understanding of current best data management & governance frameworks, practices & tooling
- Familiar with current Datamodelling techniques, including conceptual, logical and physical data models
- Good knowledge of the fundamentals of data and analytics processes and procedures, with a strong understanding of complex data lineage in databases, schemas, tables, columns.
- Competent in SQL, ideally with some level of coding/scripting skills such as Python etc.
