Data Manager – Reinsurance

We are working with a leading London market insurer that is looking for a Data Manager to join their Outwards Reinsurance Placement team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in supporting high-profile reinsurance programs across a range of complex lines of business, including Property D&F, Terrorism, Marine, Energy, and Aviation.
This role blends hands-on data analytics, coding, and visualisation with meaningful interaction across the business. You will collaborate closely with underwriting, exposure management, actuarial, claims, and other functions to ensure the business has the insights and tools needed to make data-driven decisions.
Key Responsbilities
- Delivering high-quality analytics and management information to support ceded reinsurance placements.
- Monitoring and analysing portfolio data to track premium and exposure changes.
- Supporting automation projects, including writing SQL scripts, creating Power BI dashboards, and maintaining complex Excel tools.
- Partnering with teams across the business to provide valuable insights and data support.
What We’re Looking For
- Insurance market experience is essential – applicants without insurance industry experience will not be considered.
- Strong SQL skills, with the ability to write scripts and stored procedures.
- Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data manipulation.
- Experience with Power BI, Python, or R is highly beneficial.
- A collaborative, proactive mindset with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and engage with senior stakeholders.
