On behalf of an industry leader, I am seeking an experienced Network Engineer with experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining IP networks, systems architecture, and network security.
The organisation operates a hybrid working policy; therefore, you must be committed to being office based up to 3 days per week and within commutable distance of their Watford offices.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, configure, install, test and managed a high availability and fault tolerant network and infrastructure for the WAN, LAN, SAN, VPN networks specific to IoT use cases.
- Design and implement network solutions for IoT services, including LAN, WAN, VPN, firewall, load balancing, routing, switching, IP addressing schemes, and Internet routing technologies eg BGP, alongside associated security services and controls.
- Manage and optimize the performance, availability, and security of the IoT network infrastructure.
Experience/Skills required:
- At least five years of experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining IP networks, systems architecture, and network security, preferably in an IoT environment
- Methodical trouble-shooter and team player but able to take ownership and drive projects and investigations self sufficiently.
- In-depth knowledge of network protocols, standards, and technologies, such as TCP/IP, IPv6, MPLS, VPN, QoS, SDN, NFV, etc.
- Experience in using network monitoring, troubleshooting, and management tools, such as SNMP, NetFlow, Wireshark, SolarWinds, etc.
- Proficiency in Scripting languages, such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc., and automation tools, such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and be technical lead/subject matter expert in projects or teams
- Demonstrable experience in designing and leading on the build of large network deployments.
