On behalf of a Leading financial services organisation, I am seeking an experienced Project Manager/Business Analyst (hybrid) who will be responsible for planning the delivery of the new cloud-based Data Hub. The Data Hub is a key component of the firm’s Data Strategy and will help to drive cultural change to put data at the heart of the company.
Responsibilities:
- The Data Services Project Manager will be responsible for planning the delivery of the new cloud-based Data Hub. The Data Hub is a key component of the firm’s Data Strategy and will help to drive cultural change to put data at the heart of the company.
- Data Hub will be used by a variety of users and systems to meet their Data Management, Analysis, MI and Operational Data needs and will encompass cutting edge data lake, data streaming and data warehouse technologies.
- Using adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches, the successful candidate will lead delivery of the solutions needed to realise this vision..
- Liaise with the Head of Data Strategy, to build and maintain the product (requirements) backlog
- Act as scrum master, ensuring that all Agile ceremonies are respected.
- Take ownership of user story backlog, to ensure that all requirements are clearly articulated and have well defined success criteria
- Undertake analysis duties as required, to support data architecture and development teams
- Identifies, assesses and manages risks to the success of the project. Ensures that realistic plans are maintained and ensures regular and accurate communication to stakeholders.
- Liaise with QA teams to ensure that test plans align with business need and occur on schedule and according to procedure.
- Provides effective leadership to the project team and takes proactive measures where issues or blockers are identified
- Identify opportunities for ongoing technology improvements, cost saving and decommissioning of technical debt
- Works collaboratively with cloud platform, DevOps and operational support teams, to ensure a smooth transition to operational mode.
Experience/Skills required:
- Minimum 3 years prior experience as a Project Manager/Business Analyst, ideally incorporating at least one of the following domains: Cloud/Data/Financial markets/M.I.
- Business analysis and/or technical background is a plus
- Experience in financial markets/trading data domain highly desirable
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to connect with individuals at different levels and develop partnerships
- Proven ability to lead change through positive influence of co-workers, leadership, and business partners
- Ability to manage multiple simultaneous workstreams
- Strong analytical ability and problem-solving skills.
