On behalf of a Docklands based financial services organisation, I am seeking an experienced Project Manager to manage projects/workstreams as part of a broader public cloud-based initiative (The Alternative Processing Site) to design, build, test and transition a number of financial products to a public cloud platform.
The Project Manager will have a technical background with understanding of Cloud solutions, infrastructure services, network topologies and an understanding of system integrations and the supporting service operating models. You must also hold experience in managing 3rd party vendor relationships and a strong project governance background.
This is hybrid working role with a need to be office based 2 days per week.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a detailed project plan, including scope, timeline, and resource allocation to ensure successful delivery.
- Lead cross-divisional workshops, and with support of business analysts, ensure both functional and non-functional requirements are gathered and maintained throughout the life of the project. Challenging the business and technical partners to ensure requirements are appropriate for the project’s output.
- Liaise with 3rd party suppliers and internal divisions to develop and maintain a consolidated project plan for all stages of the project’s lifecycle.
- Manage budgets for projects. Including creating and maintaining finance tracking spreadsheets and managing the associated purchase order & invoicing processes.
- Work with Project Management Office to ensure that the project adheres to the organisations delivery framework. Ensuring that all documents on the project are kept up to date (for example: business requirement documents, high level designs, test strategies, business cases, etc.), and provide progress updates within the relevant PMO tooling.
- Liaise with test teams to coordinate all stages of testing on the project (including ST, SIT, UAT, NFT, and Penetration Testing).
- Run periodic project meetings (eg project boards, team meeting, etc.), communicating with teams and stakeholders both in the UK and offshore.
- Work with the project’s sponsor and other senior stakeholders to keep them effectively informed and communicate any messages they have to the project team. Managing day to day decisions on the sponsor’s behalf.
Experience/skills required:
- At least 5 years’ experience of leading complex projects/programs within Financial Services
- Strong knowledge of public cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Experience in working on projects spanning multiple divisions/departments
- In-depth knowledge of the software development lifecycle (including associated artefacts)
- Experience in delivering cloud-based solutions with a good understanding of relevant IT Security Controls
- Experience of working in a highly procedural project environment
- Experience working directly with senior stakeholders at C Suite level
- Proficient in Microsoft: Project, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
- Experience of working on a project with data migration elements
- Experience of working on a project with integration elements
- Experience in working with offshore teams or stakeholder.
