On behalf of a market Leading financial services organisation, I am seeking an experienced Project Manager. The Project Manager will be responsible for delivering critical projects within the Corporate Functions Technology Division that will enable the transformation and growth of their businesses.
The focus of this role will be working across the delivery portfolios for the Operations Middle Office, Back Office, and Accounts Receivable organisations.
Due to the organisation operating a hybrid work model, you must be within commutable distance of their London offices and willing to be office based 3 days per week.
Responsibilities:
- Manage projects against agreed plans, providing and updating weekly project status
- Provide concise and timely reporting to the PMO Office
- Manage business deliverables against the project plan
- Manage business SME resource allocation to projects
- Manage the relationship with all/internal/external stakeholders
- Provide coordination between cross functional departments included but not limited to Technology.
- Manage work stream scope and change control
- Manage the RAID register
- Issue resolution and escalation as required to the project sponsor.
- Adapt quickly to learn the processes, systems and products of the business.
- Collect, analyse and interpret data to ensure we correctly baseline the current state processes.
- Ability to work with business SMEs as well as project and IT representatives.
- Participation in design and build phases.
- Facilitate workshops and working groups to elicit easily understandable outputs – quickly and effectively.
- Production of use cases and provide support during User Acceptance Testing.
- Work with business stakeholders (sponsors, business managers, operations staff and delivery teams) to deliver technology change.
- Capture and agree requirements, estimate resource effort/costs and document benefits to seek appropriate levels of approval.
- Follow up on outstanding actions with project team/operational managers.
- Close the projects, produce closure reports and agree and assign follow on actions.
- Support the strategic business and change management objectives.
- Organise meetings, setting agendas and taking minutes as necessary.
- The candidate should expect to be hands on, deal with multiple teams and co-ordinating day to day tasks. The Project Manager will take full accountability of the end to end delivery of their assigned projects, building strong working relationships across the technology organisation, ensuring successful delivery within the constraints of time and budget.
Experience/Competencies:
Knowledge
- Good understanding of the front-to-back trade life cycle, including client facing UI, trading, Middle Office (booking, clearing), on-boarding, and reference data
- Good understanding of Back Office and accounts receivables will be highly desirable.
- Detailed understanding of the full project life cycle from requirements capture through to implementation and delivery
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Certification such as Prince 2, PMI, AgilePM
- Minimum 5 years Project Management experience within Financial Services Technology sector, ideally within an Agile development environment
- Held budget accountability for projects/programmes over £500k
Skills
- Exceptional working knowledge of all Microsoft applications especially, MS Project, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management at all levels; strong presentation skills
- Strong problem solving, documentation and ability to work to tight deadlines
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work on multiple projects whilst managing multiple deadlines and differing priorities. Projects will span across global teams in multiple time zones.
- Strong decision-making skills and ability to self-start, identify tasks required independently to fulfil project deliverables and work as a team member
- Writing skills – ability to produce documents in a clear, accurate and compelling manner
- Service oriented, adaptable, resilient, results oriented, attention to detail, and personal accountability
- Creativity, innovation and ability to demonstrate a pro-active approach to tasks
- Agile delivery experience and acumen.
