Help Shape the Future of Secure Cloud Architecture
We’re looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Security Architect to lead the design and assurance of secure, resilient and scalable technology solutions across a modern cloud-first environment.
This is a highly influential role sitting at the intersection of Enterprise Architecture, Cloud Operations and Cyber Security. You’ll be responsible for defining security architecture strategy, embedding secure-by-design principles, and ensuring cloud platforms and services are protected against emerging threats while enabling innovation and business growth.
As a key contributor to the Technology Design Authority (TDA), you’ll provide expert guidance on technology decisions, shape security standards and governance, and work closely with architects, engineers and senior stakeholders to ensure security is built into every stage of delivery.
This role offers the opportunity to influence strategic technology direction while remaining hands-on in solving complex security and architectural challenges.
What You’ll Be DoingLead Security Architecture
- Define and evolve cloud security architecture across Infrastructure, Platform and Software as a Service environments.
- Develop and maintain security patterns, reference architectures and architectural guardrails.
- Ensure security, resilience, compliance and operational readiness are Embedded into solution designs from inception.
- Provide architectural leadership across programmes, projects and operational initiatives.
Drive Secure Cloud Adoption
- Shape secure cloud strategies and ensure alignment with industry best practice.
- Guide teams on secure implementation of Azure services and cloud-native technologies.
- Support cloud optimisation initiatives, balancing security, performance and cost efficiency.
- Champion modern security approaches that enable innovation without increasing risk.
Strengthen Governance & Assurance
- Lead security architecture reviews and provide assurance through governance and design authority forums.
- Assess architectural risks and define practical, proportionate mitigations.
- Ensure compliance with security standards, enterprise architecture principles and regulatory expectations.
- Support audit activities, security assessments and assurance reviews.
Protect Identities, Platforms & Data
- Define architectural approaches for identity and access management, privileged access and federated identity.
- Drive best practice in data protection, encryption, key management and secure data sharing.
- Provide oversight of cloud monitoring, logging, threat detection and incident response capabilities.
- Help improve security posture across cloud and hybrid environments.
Enable Delivery Teams
- Partner with enterprise, solution, data and AI architects to create secure end-to-end solutions.
- Work closely with engineering, platform and DevSecOps teams to embed security controls into delivery pipelines.
- Provide trusted advice throughout the project lifecycle, from early discovery and design through to live operation.
- Build strong relationships with third-party suppliers and technology partners.
Act as a Trusted Advisor
- Translate complex security challenges into clear business risks and opportunities.
- Influence decision-making through evidence-based recommendations.
- Stay ahead of emerging threats, technologies and industry trends, bringing fresh ideas and continuous improvement to the organisation.
- Act as the recognised subject matter expert for cloud security architecture.
What We’re Looking ForEssential Experience
- Extensive experience designing and assuring cloud security architectures within large, complex organisations.
- Strong expertise across cloud, hybrid and enterprise security architectures.
- In-depth knowledge of identity, access, network, platform and data security principles.
- Proven experience working with Azure architecture and security best practices.
- Strong understanding of governance, risk management and security assurance.
- Experience operating within architecture boards, design authorities or governance forums.
- Knowledge of modern DevSecOps practices and secure-by-design delivery methodologies.
- Experience implementing cloud security controls, posture management and threat detection capabilities.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Excellent communication skills, able to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience working within regulated environments.
Desirable Qualifications
- CISSP, CCSP or equivalent industry-recognised security certifications.
- Microsoft Azure security certifications.
- TOGAF or other architecture-related certifications.
- Experience supporting large-scale cloud transformation programmes.
